Along side our larger external productions we also put on three internal musical theatre showcases throughout the year. Our showcase auditions are always open auditions meaning everyone who comes along gets a part in the showcase, so they are a great way to get involved in performing with the society!

Autumn showcase takes place in the first term of the year, and is a perfect introduction to CHMS! It is a performance of several numbers from a variety of musicals, usually with a general theme for the whole show. Each number within the showcase is directed by members of the society and we aim to put on an eclectic mix of styles and songs.

The CHMiScast concert is a new addition to the showcase family as of 2020. It comes in Spring Term and has members of the society perform various songs from musicals with a twist: all the numbers are miscast! This means everyone is playing a role that is outside of their own casting type, particularly roles which are gender swapped. The showcase is also unique in that it has the shortest turnover of any CHMS production, with the cast and prod team having only 4 weeks to put the concert together!

Summer showcase is a set of 6 mini-musicals, each directed by members of the society. A mini-musical consists of roughly 15 minutes of musical numbers from a show performed in succession. This is not only another fantastic opportunity to perform with CHMS, but could also introduce you to the music of your new favourite show!
